New Traditional Personal Parish in Amsterdam

From the Dutch blog Mysterium Fidei we learn the wonderful news that the FSSP have been granted a personal parish by the Bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam.The new parish will be dedicated to Blessed Charles of Austria. The community will worship in the Church of St Agnes in Amsterdam. The translation from the Dutch is courtesy of google. Sorry about that!

Agneskerk Amsterdam personal parish

Since 2006, the Agnes Church in Amsterdam the Mass according to the extraordinary form of the Roman rite dedicated. In 2009 trusted Mgr. Point, Bishop of Haarlem-Amsterdam, the ministry in the church to priests of Peter Brotherhood. Now the diocese has decided to make the church a full "personal parish" to make. The motu proprio Summorum Pontificum makes it possible to legal faithful who are attached to the extraordinary form to unite. Any Catholic who feels involved in the old rite can be registered as a parishioner. A personal parish has the same rights and obligations as an ordinary (territorial) parish, including its own pastor. The new parish will be dedicated to the Blessed Emperor Charles of Austria.

On its website announcing the new parish immediately a Pontifical High Mass in the extraordinary form. On Sunday, January 20, 2013, feast of St. Agnes, will Mgr. JGM van Burgsteden SSS, retired auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Haarlem-Amsterdam to some believers H. Confirmation Mass and administer instruct. The bishop announced that he is pleased to again in the rite to celebrate that at his ordination

November 1, 2014. Pontifical High Mass at St John the Baptist Cathedral Norwich at 12-noon. This Mass will be celebrated by the Bishop of East Anglia, Alan Hopes. Please support this Mass which will be a wonderful event.

There will be a Missa Cantata on Saturday 11 October, 2014 at 11 am at St Benedict Minster, Beccles.

Friday 6 June at 6 pm. Missa Cantata. A Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart, at All Souls Church, Peterborough.

Sunday 8 June. Missa Cantata for Pentecost, 9.15 am at Blackfriars, Cambridge.

Easter Sunday, 9.15 am, at Blackfriars, Buckingham Road, Cambridge. There will be a Missa Cantata, celebrated by Fr. Aidan Nichols, according to the Dominican Rite.

Fisher House's annual Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of its distinguished chaplain, Mgr Alfred Gilbey, will take place on Tuesday 25th February at 6 pm (rehearsal at 5.15 pm).

Christmas Day. There will be a Missa Cantata according to the Dominican Rite at Blackfriars, Buckingham Road, Cambridge at 9.15 am. Mass will be celebrated by Fr Aidan Nichols. We hope to see you there!!

On a purely temporary basis the fortnightly Masses at Woodbridge have been suspended. We will inform you when they will re-commence.

Mgr Mark Langham, the new University Chaplain, celebrates Mass according to the Usus Antiquior, at 8 am on Sundays in the Chapel of Fisher House, Cambridge. Take note however that these Masses are only celebrated during term time.

Monday July 8th - Fr Henry Whisenant will celebrate Mass in the Usus Antiquior at St Mary's Church, Thetford, Norfolk. This will be a High Mass with Dr Michael Collis and Fr Withers.

Please note also that the Lawshall Masses, celebrated on the first Sunday of the month are suspended for the moment due to the ill health of Fr Gerry Quigly. We pray for him.

Note also that the 1st Friday Masses in Peterborough will now be at 6 pm.

Prayer for England

O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother look down in mercy upon England, thy dowry, and upon us who greatly hope and trust in thee.

By thee it was that Jesus, our Saviour and our hope was given unto the world; and He has given thee to us that we might hope still more.

Plead for us thy children, whom thou didst receive and accept at the foot of the cross, O Sorrowful Mother, Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold, they may be united to the Chief Shepherd, the Vicar of thy Son.
