ESA honours Mgr. Lemaître

This is perhaps not what I would normally post on the blog, but as I am an astrophysicist and Mgr  Lemaître had also been a visiting scholar at my Cambridge college, St. Edmund's, I felt it appropriate. The European Space Agency, ESA, this year named one of its supply vehicles after him. What did Mgr. Lemaître do to merit this honour? He was a fine cosmologist who made many contributions to the field and in particular came up with the concept of the primeval atom, better known as the Big Bang. Many thanks to one of my favourite blogs, rorate-caeli for alerting me to this.
